The mPING app is the best way for anyone to make a contribution to a science project. You don't have to be an expert in any field, you just have to be a normal citizen with willingness.
We have created this app so that it is easy to use and understand, and so that you can make a contribution without any prior knowledge of science and technology. We want to make this app as useful as possible to the people, and we are always looking for ideas and suggestions for how to improve the app.
What is mPING?
mPING is a project that was created by the Meteorological Phenomena Identification Near the Ground (mPING) research team at the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL) in Oklahoma City, OK.
We use dual-polarization NEXRAD radars that detect precipitation type (snow, ice, rain, etc) and size (small, medium, large, etc) to determine what is falling in your area. We need your help to make this project a success.
